Leo is embarking on his second season in British F4, having made a big impression in his 2024 debut and finishing in a creditable sixth place in the Drivers’ Standings. Despite being the youngest driver on the grid, 2025 will be Leo’s third season in car racing. In 2023 he became the youngest-ever race winner in Ginetta Junior. Mid-season, he switched to the Danish F4 Championship, scoring 10 podiums in 10 starts to become the best points scorer over the second half of the season. He secured fourth in the standings, despite only contesting half of the rounds. Prior to moving into cars, Leo won a multitude of national and international karting titles. At seven years of age, he clinched victory in the MSA Bambino Championship, and in 2019 he finished third in the IAME Euroseries and the World Final in Le Mans. In 2020, on his 11th birthday, Leo became the youngest winner in a 125cc senior kart and won the Mini X30 title at the I-Games in Portimão. The following season he dominated the Mini X30 class in the UK, winning the British Championship, Kartmasters and the LGM Championship. Later in 2021 Leo won the MENA Championship in Oman, representing his maternal nation, Algeria. He rounded out his record of karting success in 2022 by winning the Italian Championship in the OKJ class.

2025 is Thomas’ first full season of British F4. He made the step up to the fourth rung of the single-seater ladder for the final two rounds of the 2024 campaign and also competed in Round 2 of the Euro 4 Championship at the Red Bull Ring last September. In the second race of the British F4 season finale at Brands Hatch he finished in ninth place, taking the second step on the podium in the Rookies’ Cup. He started Race 3 from 15th on the Grid and gained five places to take the chequered flag in P10, stepping onto the Rookies’ Podium for a second time and securing further Championship points to open his British F4 career tally. Prior to transitioning to single-seaters, Bearman worked his way through the ranks in karting, competing in the British Karting Championship – Junior Rotax, UKC Karting Championship – Junior Rotax, RMC Euro Trophy – Senior Rotax, and BNL Karting Series – Senior Rotax. His progression mirrors that of his older brother, F1 driver Ollie Bearman, whose entry step from karts to cars was also Formula 4.

The 17-year-old from Northern Ireland is part of the Red Bull Academy, having joined the programme in the summer of 2024 after a hugely competitive evaluation as one of 11 invited candidates from around the world.

McLaughlin began karting at the age of five, and by the time he was seven he was competing in and winning various championships around Ireland.

He has since enjoyed success at British, European and world level and spent 2024 competing in the OK class. Notable achievements include being vice-champion of the 2022 British Karting Championships and vice-champion of the 2022 Iame World Games.

Last season, McLaughlin competed in the CIK-FIA European Championships finishing seventh overall in his first year in the category. In 2023, McLaughlin would also compete in the FIA Karting World Championship claiming pole position in his group. Fionn would also claim three heat wins across the weekend, narrowly missing out on winning the final due to an engine failure. He also finished sixth in the 2024 FIA Karting World Championship.

The Halo-style cockpit protection device affords heightened cockpit safety and the car also benefits from strengthened anti-intrusion panels. Complemented with on-board in-car signalling and marshalling systems, the British F4 car can lay claim to being the safest of its kind worldwide.

Tyres

British F4 uses Pirelli P Zero racing slick tyres in line with the rest of the single-seater pathway, ensuring a relevant education for drivers before they graduate to other Pirelli-shod categories further up the ladder to Formula 1.
